Scott Corbett was a U.S. Army newspaper correspondent and editor (1943-46), and an English teacher (1957-65). He is a recipient of the Edgar Allan Poe Award, Mystery Writers of America (1963), the Missouri Library Assn. Mark Twain Award (1976) and the University of Wisconsin Golden Archer Award (1978).
